We all know you can get generic rainbow clothes from a big box store, but where do those funds go at the end of the day? ‘Rainbow Washing’ is when a business markets pride merchandise/events purely for capitol gain. All too often these profits end up being used in ways that can actually harm the 2SLGBTQIA+ (donations to anti-queer organizations, supporting anti-queer policies, etc.)
To combat this, we’re throwing an event where all are welcome to share/swap, create/customize clothing & accessories for this years pride parade! Help keep fast-fashion from the landfills, save your wallet from abuse, and thoughtfully direct hard-earned spending power toward a more sustainable future.
